The Raffaele Scerbo Annual Memorial Tournament, April 26, 2025 Caledon East
Our mission is to honour, Raffaele Francesco Scerbo, by raising awareness and funds for brain tumour research. Our goal is to raise the funds by incorporating two of the activities he enjoyed most - playing hockey and spending time with family and friends. All proceeds from the different events will be donated to brain tumour research.
Raffi’s Rebels began as a fundraising group that participated in the walk for Sick Kids hospital. At its centre was and is Raffaele Scerbo, a glioma brain tumour patient of the hospital. Raffi’s Rebels consists of his family - his parents Frank and Jodi as well as his sisters Emma and Simona - along with an amazing group of friends and supporters. Raffaele lost his battle with cancer in 2020 and this has compelled his family to raise awareness and funds for brain tumour research. We are fully aware of how lucky we are to have such a hospital close to home. Sick Kids researchers work tirelessly to find new brain tumor treatments so one day no child will be lost to this type of cancer.
